I always learned that an ounce of prevention was worth a pound of cure, but I take it our anti-choice opposition must have been dozing off for that lesson.
The need to stand strong on behalf of women’s health care, basic reproductive services, cancer and STI screening were among the messages of today’s rally at the North Carolina State House. Led by almost a dozen pro-choice state legislators, clinicians, patients, and staff, more than one hundred supporters (and one well decked out dog in his own PP t-shirt) of women’s health stood up for Planned Parenthood to send a message to Raleigh and to Washington to stop the attacks on Planned Parenthood and get back to the business of creating jobs and saving money. In the words of one state senator, “Over the long term, prevention saves money.”
We now head into the last leg of the Planned Parenthood bus tour, having just crossed over the border into Virginia. Roanoke -- are you ready?!
Goodnight!
