Storms hit the New Orleans area pretty hard last night but fortune smiled and the rain held back for our first NOLA stop of the day. Representatives from Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast spoke to the crowd - decked out in pink beads and fleur de lis boots - calling on local representatives to reject any legislation that would cut essential health services for the nearly 8500 patients seen by New Orleans and Baton Rouge clinics each year.
It was great to hear from DeShannon Russell, health care liaison for Congressman Cedric L. Richmond. "Congressman Richmond knows that PP provides preventive medical services such as cancer screenings, HIV tests, and reproductive health care,” said Ms. Russell. “That's why he voted against defunding PP, which is a vital part of the New Orleans community."
Thanks Rep. Richmond for your continued support!
